With us already in November, the holiday season is right around the corner! As a celebration of live music and the many ways in which our multicultural community celebrates Xmas, Music SA presents World Festive!
World Festive is a free Christmas street party with a live music stage, taking over Ebenezer Place from 2pm – 8pm Saturday 11 December as a part of City of Adelaide’s Christmas Festival!
We will have live music acts showcasing Christmas celebrations around the world, including Cuba to West Africa, South America, Japan, Puerto Rico, Punjab and more!
World Festive will feature local/global sensations:
- Lazaro Numa (Cuba, South America)
- Cartel Afinke (Puerto Rico, North America)
- Jambu Loco (Brazil, South America)
- Ebby Allotey (Ghana, Africa)
- Hosted by Parvyn (Australia/India)
- and more to be announced soon!
With major restrictions in place for international travel we are all itching for some worldly culture, and what better way than to demonstrate the celebrations of music, language, and art during Christmas with our local rich and diverse multicultural communities. All our artists will share their Christmas celebrations from their homeland and teach audiences the different ways to rejoice this time of year. There will also be plenty of dance, costume and even food integrated into the performances!
World Festive is a free, family friendly event – we invite you to come celebrate live music, Christmas, and our wonderfully diverse Adelaide community!
This event is supported by World Music SA, Derringers and participating bars, Belgian Beer Café and Hidden Brew Taphouse!
