The JOURNEY series is the opening ceremony for each episode of Parks and Rockreation – in this 30 minute slot, we will showcase past Music SA students and the journey they’ve taken since undergoing their Certificate at Music SA. Some journeys have been bigger than others but it’s all testament to the starting ground of Music SA Alumni.

We had Dale Taylor, our Training Coordinator at Music SA put together a little write up on each of the bands playing Parks and Rockreation and how far they’ve come since starting out…

PELVIS
“Pelvis were formed when members Hannah, Amy and Georgia attended the course in 2018, and joined forces. They’ve just celebrated their first year together. I am super stoked to see that Pelvis are getting out there and performing so much! These girls seriously rock and are becoming a mainstay of Adelaide psych rock music scene, definitely ones to watch!”

MUM THINKS BLUE
“ I had the pleasure of having Austin in the 2018 class, where he displayed awesome song-writing and performance skills. Since leaving the course, his band Mum Thinks Blue have performed in many of SA’s top music venues, released 4 singles including a video clip for their single ‘Sneaky’ and participated in JJJ Unearthed. I am looking forward to what they have instore for the future!”

TAYLOR PFEIFFER
“Taylor joined the course in 2017, having already performed in many venues across Australia as Taylor the Banjo Girl. Her talent was undeniable, she has incredible vision and is one of the nicest people I’ve ever had the pleasure of working with. Since leaving the course, Taylor has been consistently performing, touring, releasing new material and film clips. Her music has won awards, performed and recorded in Nashville and gained the attention of artists such as; Post Malone, Casey Chambers, Lee Kernaghan, and Béla Fleck. She has also has attended Béla Fleck’s Blue Ridge Banjo Camp and had national and international airplay. A truly awesome South Australian talent!”

MUMS FAVOURITE
“Sasha and Brooke from Mums Favourite attended the course in 2019, and have been busy performing and releasing new music ever-since! With 2 releases “Eye Contact” and “Red Room” the band have gained the attention of the SA music scene. Mums Favourite have also released 2 awesome video clips for their singles. If you’re into bluesy, groovy rock, you’ll love Mums Favourite!.”

Thanks Dale!
