Back in October we heralded the coming of  “Proof of Life”, a Festival designed to innovate, collaborate and of course, celebrate live music!

It’s now launch time, with the opening party tomorrow night (6 November) at the The Exeter, from 54:30pm. All welcome! The event kicks off a week’s worth of live music sessions, competitions, career sessions and more, running 6-14 November.

Here are some highlights – get amongst it!

ProofofLife-LaunchLaunch Party

Join the party at The Exeter, as the festival is officially launched, with a special guest performance from Electric Fields – think “Daft Punk meets Deep Forest with the fearlessness of Nina Simon.” It’s free entry and the perfect way to start your journey for the night.

ProofofLife-ChooseAdventure-featChoose Your Own Adventure

This is where YOU share what’s happening in the live music scene – spread the word on social media via #proofoflife and share your best “gig moment, tshirt, extreme fan”, it’s all good! Bands and venues, should let the fest know what’s on, and they’ll give it a push. Explore for yourself with the interactive map.

Loose Change Busking Challenge

Join the age old tradition of playin’ for the people on the streets, with a weekend-long busking challenge. Register officially, and watch for pop up stages across the city: Rundle Mall – Friday 6th, 10am – 3pm; Along North Terrace from the Library to Adelaide Uni – Saturday 7th, 10am – 3pm; Rymill Park – Sunday 8th, 10am – 3pm

ProofofLife-ImbalanceImbalance This

Why does the music industry only have 20% of women involved? Proof of Life poses the question, and you can join the discussion to help figure out why and what to do about it. Register for 9 November at St Paul’s Creative Centre.

ProofofLife-MerchMerch This

It’s a chat about all things merch! Learn about designing, making and selling – and show off your favourite t-shirt for “Wear Your Favourite Tshirt Day” on Wednesday 11 November.

ProofofLife-MoreThanMusicMore Than Music

This sounds like a spellbinding session – Cory McAbee shares how he transformed from a self taught artist musician to generating global music collaborative projects that combines music, film and visual arts. RSVP for 12 November and get inspired to launch your next musical project.
