Here’s something for lovers of music AND movies!

As part of The Mercury Cinema’s film society – Adelaide Cinémathèque presents This Creative Life, a series of six curated films which explore the idea that the creative life can be both a curse and a blessing in equal measure.

Starting on Thursday 3 September with a special, off the record talk from acclaimed film director Richard Lowenstein about his time making one of the most enduring films about music and share-house living in Melbourne in the late 70s: “Dogs in Space”.

Also in the series are some of the most gripping and artful films you’ll see about music as a creative endeavour:
Mon 7 Sept, 7pm: AUTO – LUMINESCENT: ROWLAND S. HOWARD (M)
Thurs 10 Sept, 7pm: AMADEUS (PG)
Mon 14 Sept, 7pm: LOU REED’S BERLIN (PG)
Thurs 17 Sept, 7pm: GIUSEPPE MAKES A MOVIE (CTC 18+)
Mon 21 Sept, 7pm: BURDEN OF DREAMS (PG)

Watch for news on how you can WIN a 4-movie season pass – which you can use for these or any other Adelaide Cinémathèque session for the rest of the year – which we reveal in our Thursday 27th Music SA eNews mailout, direct to your inbox.
