Chapel Lane Studios

Chapel Lane Recording Studios is South Australia’s premium recording complex situated within Adelaide’s Entertainment Hub in Hindmarsh, just next to the Adelaide Entertainment Centre and walking distance to Hindmarsh Soccer stadium and the Governor Hindmarsh Hotel.

The studio is built inside an 1882 Congregational Church and has an up market yet relaxing atmosphere.

Chapel Lane studio combines the latest in Digital Technology with the best of traditional Analogue to give you the best recording experience. Starting with our state of the art Control Room featuring the only SSL Duality 72 channels mixing desk in a commercial studio in Australia. The Duality is the center piece of this control room with 72 I/O Lynx Aurora AD/DA converters and Protools HD3. We also have the option to record Analogue trough our Otari MTR 90 MkII 24 Track tape machine. Monitoring is with Genelec 1038A’s Farfield and Genelec 8040A’s Nearfield. There is also a dedicated 5.1 monitoring with Tannoy Ellipse and Dual Genelec 7070A Subs. The headphone system is the  “Aviom” personal mixer system with 6 mixers, each with 16 channels of “more me” monitoring.

Our live room is around 50 square meters with over 4 meter high ceilings including variable acoustic treatment, this room houses our Yamaha C7 Grand Piano, it is also one of the best Drum recording rooms going around and it’s layout makes it perfect for live recordings.

The vocal booth is around 10 square meters and has line of sight trough live room and control room. this booth is acoustically treated to be fairly dead.  This room is also great for a tight drum sound and instrumental overdubs.

Lastly but not least is our 2 dedicated ISO Amps Booth for those loud guitar and bass amps! All the rooms have Tie lines and speaker lines between them so you can be in the control room or live room with your favorite amp head while your speaker box is away.
