Composer, performer, recording artist.
Swedish-born Chapman Stick player Andy Salvanos bridges the gap between bass, fingerstyle guitar and new age piano; with a style described by one reviewer as “the sound of the world”. Andy, who has been a regular performer at events such as the National Folk Festival (ACT), Cygnet Folk Festival (TAS), the Adelaide International Guitar Festival, and the Adelaide Fringe, is also a passionate street musician with an extensive list of corporate clients. Two of his albums, “Dream recall” (2011) and “Closer” (2007), have been nominated for international awards. His recent credits include various soundtrack and collaborative projects, including 3 compositions for the recently released South Australian film “Charlotte”. While the instrument is largely unknown, Andy’s original music is based on heartfelt melodies and hypnotic grooves, making it inherently accessible to a large variety of audiences.
