This Saturday 17 October, special things are afoot at St Paul’s Creative Centre ! Make sure you’re a part of the “Connected Music City Challenge”,  a partnership between IBM, Adelaide City Council, the Music Development Office, Musitec, New Venture Institute and Adelaide Fringe.

The challenge is an opportunity for Adelaide’s innovators to develop and pitch concepts for the delivery of compelling city experiences themed around live music, supported by IBM’s platforms.

Teams have two months to develop concepts that use technology to enhance Adelaide’s live music scene.  Concepts will be presented at the 18th November 2015 TechJam event, and a winner will be chosen by a panel of experts.

At Saturday’s workshop, teams will get some support in developing their ideas, and including sessions with prestigious mentors Heather Croall, CEO of Adelaide Fringe, and serial entrepreneur Philip Vafiadis, and Fresh FM’s energetic General Manager Troy Sincock. There will also be a presentation from IBM about the software and platforms that they can make available for the Challenge, with IBM’s Kathy McGurk at hand to answer questions, and a concept development session with 3D animator and tech wizard Shane Bevin.

There are great prizes and assistance with commercialisation available to the winning teams, and teams are able to register for the Connected Music City Challenge until 2nd November 2015. Attendance at the workshop is highly recommended and encouraged as it provides the necessary tools to further product development.
