With the release of the Adelaide Festival Centre’s 2016 Season comes the announcement of several Adelaide Guitar Festival shows that take the event into new territory.
From a gala event with the ASO to an inaugural ‘Adelaide Guitar Festival Summer School’, there look to be many exciting collaborations within the program.
Watch for thrilling shows by ‘masters of improv’ Wolfgang Muthspiel Trio, The Panics performing their live score for ‘Girt By Sea’, and a special production of Don Juan featuring internationally renowned guitarist Karin Schaupp.
Returning for the 2016 fest is the popular “Adelaide International Classical Guitar Competition”, boasting a total prize pool of $32,000 and a chance for finalists to perform at the 2018 Adelaide Guitar Festival. Entries are open until 29 January.
The full 2016 Adelaide Guitar Festival program will be launched in April.
