MusicSA is excited to announce that Scouted is back for 2023!
Expressions of Interest are now open for local unsigned bands and artists.
Scouted is presented on 4 August and coincides with the Australian Independent Record Labels Association’s annual Indie-Con Australia conference, held here in Adelaide, Australia’s UNESCO designated City of Music.
Scouted provides an important and unique opportunity for local unsigned emerging bands and artists to perform in front of national music industry professionals who are in Adelaide for Indie-Con from 2-4 August.
Since its inception in 2017, Scouted has seen many participants go on to be signed to booking agents, record labels and management, perform headline tours and jump on some incredible festival line-ups. Scouted assists emerging participants in making lasting industry connections and can be a pathway to the national music industry map.
Last year’s Scouted 2022 acts Mum’s Favourites, Natasha Bianca and Sacredd were programmed for the Groovin The Moo 2023 Wayville line-up as a direct result of Scouted. Other 2022 acts have also already made exciting moves, such as; Coldwave releasing an EP through PAK Records and playing Adelaide’s Laneway Festival as Triple J’s Unearthed Feature Artist, Divebar Youth receiving well deserved acclaim and attention from Triple J and MTV, Bussey’s addition to the Heaps Good Festival line-up, Sonz of Zoku’s win of People’s Choice Award – Experimental at the South Australian Music Awards and playing WOMADelaide 2023.
Taking a further look back, 2017 Scouted duo Electric Fields recently performed their commissioned official theme song ‘We The People’ for Sydney World Pride 2023 at the opening concert, sharing the stage with Charlie XCX, Kylie Minogue and Jessica Mauboy.
