Australian Songbook is a brilliant musical tribute to this wide brown land featuring the pick of two hundred years of great Australian songs.
Waltz your Matilda from Botany Bay along the Road to Gundagai and across the western plains. Find out what really happened to that jolly swagman down by the billabong and help The Beggars a band who know a bit about touring to sing I’ve Been Everywhere Man.
There are the songs about tramps, thieves and harlots, gold diggers, madmen, farmers and battlers who are doing it tough but managing to still hanging on to their dreams. There are also songs from our Australian music legends: Slim Dusty, The Seekers and The Beggars own songs are there too.
The cast is The Beggars. Three brilliant, internationally acclaimed singer / songwriters with a crystal clear Australian voice that rings true at home and around the world.

Their sound pays homage to its Country Folk roots but it so much more than the sum of its parts. Their Aussie magic caught the ears of European DJs who introduced them to millions of listeners and put the band on top 10 charts across the E.U. The Beggars stage presence; humour and style have taken them around the world from acoustic performances in intimate venues in the wine regions of South Australia to standing room only concerts in Berlin.
