Rob McDade
Genre:Multi Instrumentalist, Rock, Solo Guitarist
Imagine Mike Oldfield playing Pink Floyd with a hint of Zeppelin, and the ghost of Hendrix looking on. You will begin to understand the sonic manipulation of McDade.
Rob McDade is one of Adelaide’s most innovative guitarists. He plays a mixture of beautifully crafted acoustic solos in the tradition of Will Ackerman and Michael Hedges, and electric solos that scream of Clapton, Hendrix and Gilmour. And he has a voice to suit. Using a system of looping devices and electronic percussion, Rob creates his own 'backing band' live on the spot. Each performance is totally unique.
Rob has released three albums, won awards, scored for film and TV; and has played at several festivals including the Inaugural Adelaide International Guitar Festival in 2007. He supported Pink Floyd Bassist, Guy Pratt at his Adelaide show in July 2009.
