Up & coming HipHop artist Colin Darcy AKA Caper is proud to announce the launch of new video clip 'How Would You Like To Be Me', produced with Richard Coburn who has worked with the Hilltop Hoods amongst many others. The clip was launched on 16 May on the Facebook Caper Group Page, and is now up on YouTube for everyone to see. Caper explains that the song is about stereotyping, racism & discrimination from his own life experiences, with the title of the song/clip poignantly bringing home this point.

Caper was born and raised in Whyalla, raised by a single mother and never met his father. A lifetime spent facing adversity, Caper grew up less fortunate as a kid and lost both his brother and mother to heart disease. Remaining strong through his adversity, up rose a compelling storyteller rapping about the harsh realities of life, poetic rhymes capturing the underlining truth through the dark and the light. Without having finances for someone to produce beats Caper took it upon himself and brought his first keyboard and programme and started creating his own.

Caper's work shows insightful and deep lyricism and draws inspiration from his own and other peoples' experiences. Caper's life story was captured in a Documentary called 'Chasing SHADOWS' that aired on ABC TV in 2010, gaining him exposure to a national audience. Currently he is recording his debut album.

Regarding the themes of discrimination featured in 'How Would You Like To Be Me',  Caper says "Personally I’ve been in these situations going back from school days to playing footy and even today out in general society.  I wrote the song after I was in a situation over hearing a conversation in a pizza bar with some people talking about Aboriginal people in a racist way. Enough was enough so I had to vent it and talk about it to hopefully make people think a little different.   The message in the song is How Would You Like To Be Me? Like I wanted to ask people that question through the chorus of the song to kind of say how would you like to be in my shoes and treated like that?" He hopes that the song will make those with racist tendencies to think a little differently in how they treat all people.

The video came about by Caper being introduced to Richard Coburn by Shalom Almond, who created the ‘Chasing SHADOWS’ Doco. The video was shot over a few sessions and features Caper on the streets of Adelaide telling his story about facing racism and discrimination.  You can see it online now on at Youtube.
