SCALA Festival of Music (FOOM) Winners
The fifteenth Festival of Original Music Song Competition (FOOM) run by SCALA (Songwriters, Composers And Lyricists Association) concluded with the Live Final at The Governor Hindmarsh Hotel on Wednesday, 3rd September.
The Live section was judged on the night by veteransinger/songwriter Robyn Habel (who will release her next album in November) and DJ Shep (Adrian Shepherd) from Nova 91.9 FM's The Adelaide Show (which plays 2 hours of local music every week).
Winners in the Live section were father and daughter team Alan and Jessica O'Toole (Jessica is 16), Mark Curtis from the band The British Robots, last year's winner Craig Battams, and Katie Greenhalf who has now won recording prizes in the Live section on three occasions.
Runners up were Courtney Robb, Jordan Beinke , who won the audience vote, and long time songwriter Andy Armstrong.
Winners were also announced in other sections of the Song Competition with Chris Henderson taking out the Lyrics Section and Victorian based shearer and songwriter, Glenn Ryder, winning in the Demo Open Section with two of his entries.
